Credit Partners respects your privacy. This page explains in plain English what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
This statement applies to Credit Partners Pty Ltd, ABN 66 620 764 249, of Unit 416, Level 4, 87 Overton Rd, Williams Landing VIC 3027 (we, us, our). We collect and store information about you for the purposes you agree to in our Privacy Disclosure Statement and E-mail Communication Consent, subject to Australia’s privacy and credit reporting laws, including the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code 2024 (CR Code).
Why we collect your information
As your broker, we collect credit-related personal information to assess your credit or guarantor application (or the application of a company of which you are a director), to source a suitable credit provider or lessor and any required insurances, and to manage the application process. If you do not provide the information sought, we may be unable to process your application, or we may be limited in the other services we can offer you.
Credit reporting bodies and disclosures
When you apply, we may disclose your identification information to a credit reporting body (CRB) and in some cases obtain a credit report; use that report to preliminarily assess your application; disclose your credit information to credit providers to apply for finance on your behalf; disclose your personal information to insurers to source any insurances you want; and disclose your information to an aggregator so your application can be submitted to the credit provider. Credit providers may also exchange information about you with CRBs. Each credit provider’s website sets out how they handle personal and credit information, which CRBs they deal with, and your rights.
How your information is protected
Your information is used only for the purposes listed in the consent you sign, and is not disclosed to anyone else except with your permission or as permitted or required by law. It is stored securely and retained only as long as needed for our services and legal obligations. In the event of a data breach involving your information, we will notify you as soon as practicable in line with our obligations under the CR Code.
Your rights
You can ask us for the information we hold about you; ask us to correct anything inaccurate, incomplete or out of date; request copies of our privacy documents in a format that suits you; ask a CRB not to use your information for direct marketing or pre-screening; and ask a CRB not to release your information if you believe you are a victim of fraud. You may also complain about conduct that may breach the privacy and credit reporting laws, and you can raise a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
